The 2025 edition garnered a viewership of 21 crore, turning exam stress into a learning celebration. Rooted in the vision of NEP 2020, the program continues to foster a relaxed and experiential learning atmosphere in pursuit of a Viksit Bharat.

 

🔹 Former Jharkhand CM Shibu Soren Passes Away at 81


Shibu Soren, a prominent tribal leader and three-time CM of Jharkhand, passed away on August 4, 2025, due to health complications.
Known as “Dishom Guru”, his contribution to the formation of Jharkhand and advocacy for tribal rights earned him nationwide respect.

 

🔹 J&K’s Largest Hydropower Project Revived


The Sawalkote Hydropower Project, a major 2,185 MW facility on the Chenab River, is being brought back to life through NHPC and JKSPDC collaboration at an estimated cost of ₹22,704 crore.


The project is poised to produce 7,000 million units annually, making Jammu & Kashmir power-surplus and enhancing flood management in the region.

🔹Palm Oil Imports Dip, Soyoil Shipments Hit 3-Year Peak
India’s palm oil imports dropped 10% in July 2025 (858,000 tons), due to order cancellations. Conversely, soyoil imports surged 38% to 495,000 tons — a three-year high — supported by favorable pricing and delayed cargo arrivals.
Despite sunflower oil imports falling by 7%, overall edible oil imports rose 1.5% to reach 1.53 million tons.

 

🔹Tea Production Declines 9% in June Due to Pests and Rain

 

India’s tea industry faced a setback in June 2025, producing only 133.5 million kg — a 9% decline from the previous year — owing to erratic weather and pest outbreaks across North and South India.
This downturn affected all tea varieties, raising industry concerns.

 

🔹 Fitch Revises India’s FY26 Growth Forecast to 6.3%
Fitch Ratings has downgraded India’s GDP growth outlook for FY26 to 6.3%, citing domestic demand strength but noting external risks like U.S. tariffs and global supply chain disruptions.
