The College TRB Examination 2025, scheduled for 27 December 2025, is entering its most decisive phase. With just days remaining, aspirants must shift from passive reading to exam-aligned preparation, focusing on clarity, accuracy, and strategic execution.

As part of our Government College Jobs Descriptive Answer Writing Practice Series, we have reached Day 8 today.

The descriptive practice question for today is

“Role of Women Freedom Fighters in the Freedom Struggle of India.”

Aspirants are encouraged to attempt the answer independently under exam-like conditions. For guidance and improvement, you may refer to the expert-curated model answer provided by Professor Academy.

As part of Professor Academy’s Government College Jobs Descriptive Answer Writing Practice Series, Day 8 is dedicated entirely to one of the most misunderstood yet critical components of the College TRB exam — the Tamil Language Eligibility Test.

Based on feedback, model test analysis, and direct interaction with thousands of aspirants, we observed that many candidates either overestimate or underestimate this qualifying section. This blog aims to eliminate confusion and help you prepare smartly and confidently.

Why Tamil Language Eligibility Matters in TN Governement Jobs

From 2022 onwards, the Government of Tamil Nadu has made basic Tamil proficiency mandatory for all state government appointments. This applies to every recruitment examination, including College TRB.

The intent behind introducing Tamil Language Eligibility is simple and practical:

  • To ensure candidates possess basic reading, writing, and comprehension skills in Tamil
  • To enable effective communication in academic and administrative environments within Tamil Nadu

This is not a scoring section—it is a qualifying gateway. Clearing it is mandatory for your main subject paper to be evaluated.

Tamil Eligibility Exam Pattern – Explained Clearly

One of the most common confusions among aspirants is regarding the structure of the Tamil Eligibility test. Let us clarify it precisely:

  • Total Questions: 30
  • First 20 Questions:
    • 2 marks each
    • Total: 40 marks
  • Next 10 Questions:
    • 1 mark each
    • Total: 10 marks

Total Marks: 50

Important Clarification:

All questions are objective-type. However, the first 20 questions are relatively higher in difficulty, which is why they carry more weight.

Passing Criteria: What You Actually Need

  • Minimum marks to qualify : 20 out of 50
  • Once you cross 20 marks:
    • Your Part B (Main Subject – 150 marks) will be evaluated
    • You will be considered for the merit list and ranking

Key Insight:

You do not need full marks. Tamil Eligibility is purely qualifying, not competitive.

Strategic Preparation Based on Your Profile

If You Are a Professor Academy Student

At Professor Academy, Tamil Eligibility was addressed with 17 structured classes, designed specifically for TRB requirements.

  • If time permits, revise all sessions
  • If time is limited:

Mandatory: Revise the first 12 classes

  • If videos are not possible:
    • Go through class notes thoroughly
  • Reopening textbooks is not required
  • All exam-relevant areas are already covered

Avoid unnecessary re-study. Trust the structure provided.

If You Are Not an Academy Student

  • Revise previous TRB Tamil Eligibility question papers
  • Focus on:
    • Question patterns
    • Frequently repeated grammar concepts
    • Application-based comprehension

This method gives maximum output in minimal time.

Candidates with a foundational understanding of Tamil can:

  • Revise the 10th standard Tamil textbook
  • Allocate 2–3 focused days
  • This is more than sufficient to cross the qualifying threshold

Remember:

Your goal is to pass, not to score high.

Mistakes to Avoid in the Final Phase

  • Do not panic about Tamil Eligibility
  • Do not assume you will pass without revision
  • Do not over-invest time here at the cost of your main subject
  • Avoid last-minute overconfidence

In recent TRB exams, some candidates crossed 20 marks in provisional answer keys but dropped below after final keys—resulting in paper disqualification.

Be safe. Be prepared.

Do Not Lose Focus on the Main Subject

  • Tamil Eligibility: Qualifying
  • Main Subject Paper: 150 marks
  • Rank determination depends entirely on Paper B

Spend your energy where it matters most.

If required, take our state level model exam for practice

Tamil Language Eligibility is not a hurdle if approached strategically. Clear it confidently, protect your main paper, and channel your energy where rankings are decided.

Prepare smart. Stay disciplined.
