Updated TN TRB Exam Pattern (New Pattern)
Paper 1 – Forenoon Session (3 Hours)
TRB Part A – Tamil Eligibility Test
- Common for all candidates
- Total Questions: 30
- 20 questions × 2 marks = 40 marks
- 10 questions × 1 mark = 10 marks
- 20 questions × 2 marks = 40 marks
- Total Marks: 50
- Qualifying Marks: 20 (Mandatory)
If you fail this part, you will not be considered for further selection.
TRB Part B – Main Subject (Objective)
- Total Questions: 100
- 1.5 marks per question
- Total Marks: 150
Paper 2 – Afternoon Session (Descriptive)
- Duration: 1 hour
- Total Marks: 50
7 essay-type questions will be given — you must write ONE in around 300 words
Experience & Interview
- Experience: 2 marks/year (Maximum 15 marks)
- Interview: 15 marks
Total Marks for Final Selection = 230 Marks
Paper 1 (200) + Paper 2 (50) + Experience (15) + Interview (15)
