60,000 B.Ed Graduates in Tamil Nadu at Risk of Missing TRB PG Exam Deadline – Here’s Why!

PG TRB: 60,000 B.Ed Graduates Struggle Without Certificates

What’s Happening?

Over 60,000 B.Ed graduates from the 2022–2024 batch are facing uncertainty and stress as they may miss the PG TRB 2025 application deadline (August 12).

The reason? A year-long delay in issuing provisional certificates and consolidated mark sheets by Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU).

This delay puts the future of these aspiring teachers in jeopardy — and calls for urgent action.

Why This Matters for PG TRB Aspirants

The Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB) recently announced 1,996 PG Teacher vacancies in government schools.

For eligibility, applicants must upload:

  • Consolidated Mark Sheets
  • Provisional or Degree Certificate

Without these documents, B.Ed graduates cannot apply, even if they are otherwise fully eligible.

What’s Causing the Delay?

The TNTEU administration has reportedly not issued certificates to students even after more than a year.

642 colleges (government and private) across TN are affected.

Apart from the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar, and Controller of Examinations posts have remained vacant for more than 5+ years — leaving in-charge staff without decision-making powers.

UGC guidelines mandate certificate issuance within 180 days of result declaration, but the Higher Education Department has failed to ensure compliance.

What This Means for Your Career

If TNTEU fails to issue certificates within the next few days, thousands of aspiring PG teachers could lose this opportunity for government employment — through no fault of their own.

This could also:

  • Affect students’ chances of pursuing higher education
  • Disqualify them from competitive exams
  • Delay career growth for an entire batch

What’s the Solution?

As per recent updates, TNTEU’s Registrar (In-Charge) has promised that the certificates will be issued within seven working days.

But given the urgency, students must follow up regularly with their colleges or TNTEU and stay prepared with all other required documents for TRB application.
