TN TRB Law College Hall Ticket 2025 Released – Download Now for Associate & Assistant Professor Posts

 

 

The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has officially released the Hall Ticket for the Direct Recruitment of Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Assistant Professor (Pre-Law) in Government Law Colleges – 2025.

Candidates who have successfully applied can now download their hall ticket from the official website www.trb.tn.gov.in to appear for the OMR-based examination scheduled between 19th and 24th November 2025.

Educational Qualifications

 

Associate Professor

 

• Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST)
  
• 8 years of teaching/research experience with 7 publications in UGC-listed journals
• Ph.D. in Law mandatory
• Must have NET/SLET/SET qualification (Ph.D. holders under UGC 2009/2016 norms exempted)
• Not eligible: Distance/Private/1-year LL.M. degree holders

 

Assistant Professor

 

• Master’s Degree in Law with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST)
  
• Must have NET/SLET/SET (Ph.D. as per UGC 2009/2016 norms exempted)
• Not eligible: Private, Distance, or One-year LL.M. holders

 

Specialization Mapping

• ML in Contracts → Business Law & Law of Contracts
• ML in Constitutional Law → Constitutional & International Law
• ML in Human Rights → Human Rights & Constitutional Law
• ML in Labour Law → Labour & Administrative Law

 

Assistant Professor (Pre-Law)

• M.A. in English / Sociology / Political Science / Economics with ≥55% marks (50% for SC/ST)
• Must have NET/SLET/SET (Ph.D. under UGC norms exempted)
• Not eligible: Distance mode, correspondence, or cross-major degrees

 

Candidates claiming equivalence must upload the relevant Government Orders (G.O.) issued before 24.01.2025.

 

 

Language Requirement & Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025)

 

Language Requirement

 

• Candidates must have adequate knowledge of Tamil.
• If not, they must pass the Second Class Language Test (Full Test) in Tamil within two years of appointment.
• A Compulsory Tamil Language Paper is now part of the recruitment exam (minimum 40% required to qualify).

• 50 Marks | 30 Minutes
  
• Qualifying only – 40% minimum required to evaluate Part B

Selection Process

 

The final selection process includes:

 

1. Tamil Language Eligibility Test
2. OMR Written Examination
3. Research Score Evaluation (for Associate Professors)
4. Certificate Verification and Interview

 

The interview carries 25 marks. Twice the number of vacancies (or thrice if fewer than five) will be called for an interview.
