These posts are spread across departments such as Revenue, Commercial Taxes, Social Defence, Police, Forest, and more.

TNPSC Group 2 Eligibility Criteria

 

Educational Qualification:

 

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university is the base requirement.

However, certain posts require specific qualifications, which are clearly detailed in the official notification.

 

Example:

 

• For Probation Officer posts, MSW (Master of Social Work) or related degrees are preferred.
• For Forest-related posts, degrees in Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, or related fields are required.

Selection Process

 

The TNPSC Group 2 selection has three stages:

 

1. Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)
   
   • Objective Type (MCQs)
   • 200 Questions – 300 Marks
   • Sections:
     • General Tamil/English (SSLC Standard)
     • General Studies (Degree Level)
     • Aptitude & Mental Ability (SSLC Level)
2. Main Examination
   
   • Written test focused on General Studies, Tamil Eligibility, and essay writing.
3. Interview (only for Group 2 posts)
   
   • Carries 40 marks

 

Note: Group 2A posts have no interview stage.

1. Visit the official TNPSC site and complete One-Time Registration (OTR).
