To qualify UGC NET, you must score:
General / EWS / OBC: Minimum 40% aggregate (Paper 1 + 2)
SC / ST / PwD / Transgender: Minimum 35% aggregate

If You Qualify for Assistant Professorship
You are now eligible to apply for lecturer positions in universities and colleges across India.
This certification has lifetime validity.
If You Qualify for JRF
You become eligible for research fellowships and Ph.D. admissions under UGC support.
JRF validity is three years from the date of result declaration.
PhD-Only Certificate (New Update)
From 2024 onwards, UGC NET also issues a “PhD-only eligibility” certificate for candidates who don’t meet JRF or Assistant Professor cut-offs but meet PhD program criteria.
