What is UGC NET?

UGC NET (University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test) is a national-level exam conducted by NTA to determine the eligibility for:

The exam is conducted in online mode across India in more than 80 subjects.

Who is Eligible for UGC NET 2025?

You can apply for UGC NET if you meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification:
  A Master’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized university with at least:
  
  • 55% marks for General/Unreserved
    
  • 50% marks for OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender
    
• Age Limit:
  
  • For JRF: Maximum 30 years (Relaxation applicable for reserved categories)
    
  • For Assistant Professor: No upper age limit
    

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2025

The UGC NET exam consists of two papers:

Paper 2	100	200	2 Hours	Subject-specific

Both papers are compulsory
No negative marking
