What is TN TRB Polytechnic Exam ?
TN TRB Polytechnic Exam is a Competitive Exam conducted by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board for the post of Lecturers in Government Polytechnic Colleges and Special Institutions (Engineering / Non-Engineering)
What is TRB ?
The Government of Tamilnadu has constituted the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) to conduct various Tests for the selection of teachers under different sectors such as Secondary Grade Teachers, BT, PG, Special Teachers, Computer Instructors, Agricultural Instructors, and BEOs in the respective Departments of School Education and Elementary Education Department, Social Defence Department, Chennai Corporation and Coimbatore Corporation. Junior Lecturers, Lecturers, and Senior Lecturers in SCERT and in Higher Education Department for Assistant Professors, Lecturers in Government Engineering Colleges and Government Arts and Science Colleges, Government Polytechnic Colleges and Government Law Colleges respectively. Following the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, the Teachers Recruitment Board took up the responsibility of conducting the TNTET (Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test) from 2012 onwards.
Presently, the office of the Teachers Recruitment Board, Tamilnadu (TRB) is located on the premises of the Directorate of Public Information (DPI).
Education Qualification
- For Lecturer in Engineering subjects: Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology with not less than sixty percent of marks or equivalent.
- For Lecturer in Non-Engineering subjects: First-class Master’s degree in the appropriate branch of study
All the Educational qualifications and the results should have been obtained before the date of this notification.
Scheme of Examination
What is the Salary / Payscale ?
The basic pay scale ranges INR Rs.56,100 – 1,77,500 ( Level 22 )
Age Limit
Candidates should not have completed 57 years.
Mode of the exam and selection procedure
The selection will be based on two successive stages viz.
- Computer-based examination
- Awarding Weightage marks during Certificate Verification
